Leandro Paredes signs four-year deal at Zenit St Petersburg

Argentine international Leandro Paredes joins Zenit St Petersburg from Roma on a four-year contract.

Argentine international Leandro Paredes has joined Zenit St Petersburg from Roma on a four-year contract.

Roma have confirmed that the 23-year-old has been sold for an initial £19.9m, although the deal could ultimately rise to £23.4m.

Paredes joined Roma from Chievo in the summer of 2014, and the attacker scored three times and registered one assist in 27 Serie A appearances during the 2016-17 campaign.

Zenit are five-time winners of the Russian Premier League, but they have not landed the top prize since 2015, and finished eight points behind champions Spartak Moscow last season.
