Ferrari 'not expecting miracles' from Formula 1 team in Australia

Ferrari team president Sergio Marchionne says that he is not expecting "miracles" from the F1 outfit in the Australian Grand Prix next month.

Ferrari team president Sergio Marchionne has alleviated pressure on his Formula 1 outfit by claiming that he is not expecting "miracles" at the Australian Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel, who joined the team from Red Bull at the end of the 2014 season, will begin the campaign alongside Kimi Raikkonen in the first race next month.

Last week, the duo were the quickest drivers on three of the four days at pre-season testing in Jerez.

"I am encouraged by the performance of the new car, though it is one thing to do a quick lap, another to do an entire race," BBC Sport quotes Marchionne as saying.

"I have so much confidence in the work of the boys. I am proud of their work. Now we'll see when the World Championship starts in Australia. I do not expect miracles, but it is important to see progress."

Ferrari did not win a single race last season.
