Manor Marussia interim chairman Justin King has insisted that he is not seeking to succeed Bernie Ecclestone as Formula 1 supremo.
The ex-Sainsbury's boss has been linked with a wider role in running the sport, but King told a press conference in London that his focus is solely on helping Manor succeed on the track.
He said: "I have always been clear, I have never applied for a job where there isn't a vacancy - and there isn't a vacancy.
"I intend to do something a bit different from what I have done in the past. I am working on a few things - my interest in the sport is now because I am involved in Manor.
"I understand why people made a connection [with F1], but that is because of my son."
King's son Jordan will race in the GP2 support series in 2015, after competing in Formula 3 last season.
