United States Grand Prix qualifying postponed until Sunday

The qualifying round of the United States Grand Prix is postponed until 9am local time (3pm BST) on Sunday morning due to severely poor weather conditions.

Qualifying for the United States Grand Prix has been postponed until Sunday due to extremely poor weather conditions.

Following a very wet final practice session, topped by Lewis Hamilton, worsening conditions at the Circuit of the Americas prompted race control to delay the qualifying round start time by half an hour.

Further delays saw the session delayed by three hours up until 4pm local time (10pm BST), at which point the decision was made to postpone the session.

The qualifying round will now take place at 9am local time (3pm BST) on Sunday.

The last time a qualifying round was run on a Sunday was at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix.
