Saturday's League Two predictions including Port Vale vs. Morecambe

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League Two fixtures, including Port Vale vs. Morecambe.

Notts County vs. Crewe (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Two sides battling for promotion from League Two will come together on Saturday afternoon as Notts County host Crewe Alexandra at the Meadow Lane Stadium.

The hosts are fifth in the league table with 61 points from 37 games, while the visitors are eighth in the standings with 57 points from 37 league fixtures.

We say: Notts County 1-2 Crewe Alexandra

Neither side are in fantastic form coming into the match, but with Notts County often struggling at home this season, while Crewe are the sixth-best performing side in the league on the road, we expect an away victory.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Barrow (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to strengthen their position in the top three of the League Two table, AFC Wimbledon will welcome Barrow to the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts moved into the automatic promotion spots with a win last time out but only lead fourth-placed Doncaster Rovers on goal difference, while their visitors have climbed back up to 17th spot with a three-match unbeaten run.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Barrow

AFC Wimbledon battled their way back to winning ways last weekend and are well versed in picking up victories from close encounters, particularly at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

We back them to again come out on top at the weekend and strengthen their automatic promotion bid.

Bradford vs. Colchester (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bradford City play host to Colchester United on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that will see them edge closer to automatic promotion to League One.

However, despite the Bantams sitting in second place in the League Two table, in-form Colchester travel to Valley Parade just eight points adrift in seventh position.

We say: Bradford City 1-1 Colchester United

After back-to-back defeats, Bradford could have done without a fixture against the form team in the division. However, we feel that may have a positive effect, the home side having the motivation to earn a share of the spoils in a competitive encounter.

Carlisle vs. Bromley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Carlisle United play host to Bromley on Saturday afternoon desperately requiring maximum points to kick-start their survival bid.

At a time when the home side sit bottom of the League Two table, Bromley are in 11th spot and within six points of the playoffs.

We say: Carlisle United 1-2 Bromley

At some point, Carlisle will need to throw caution to the wind with draws not enough at this stage. That may come against an inconsistent Bromley side, yet we still feel that the visitors will do enough to come through with the three points.

Cheltenham vs. MK Dons (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Dreaming of making a late push for the playoffs in League Two, Cheltenham Town are set to host MK Dons at Whaddon Road on Saturday.

The Robins have bounced back from consecutive defeats and will be aiming to go three without a loss this weekend, while the Dons will be looking for some stability under their interim boss.

We say: Cheltenham Town 2-1 MK Dons

Neither side have been in the strongest form ahead of this weekend, but MK Dons struggled for months under their former boss and have continued that trend with their current interim manager.

On the other hand, Cheltenham will see this match as an opportunity to make up the ground on the playoff spots that they lost in recent weeks, so expect a win for the hosts on Saturday.

Chesterfield vs. Harrogate (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to boost any slim League Two playoff hopes, Chesterfield will welcome Harrogate Town to the SMH Group Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts have returned to the top half of the League Two table with three straight victories, while their visitors sit 21st after a defeat last time out.

We say: Chesterfield 2-0 Harrogate Town

With the Spireites growing in confidence and rebuilding momentum, despite their extensive injury issues, we back Paul Cook's men to see off a struggling Harrogate Town side for a fourth straight league win.

Fleetwood vs. Tranmere (Saturday, 3.00pm)

In a match that could affect the fight for survival in League Two, Fleetwood Town are set to host relegation-threatened Tranmere Rovers at Highbury Stadium on Saturday.

The Fishermen will be looking to get back on track after their unbeaten streak was broken last week, while Rovers will be aiming for their third win on the bounce.

We say: Fleetwood Town 1-1 Tranmere Rovers

Both sides come into this match in improved form, and Fleetwood were unlucky to have lost last time out, while Tranmere have been rejuvenated under their interim manager.

Considering that the Fishermen have proven tough to beat at home in recent months, expect to see a close-fought stalemate on Saturday.

Gillingham vs. Walsall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

With their lead at the top of the table at risk, Walsall will travel to take on Gillingham at Priestfield Stadium in League Two on Saturday.

The Gills are a bottom-half team in mixed form, but they still have a better record in recent matches than the league-leading Saddlers.

We say: Gillingham 1-1 Walsall

Neither side have been in the strongest form ahead of this weekend, but Gillingham have fared slightly better in recent weeks.

However, with the pressure on to maintain their place at the top, Walsall could walk away with a point, enough to keep them first by the slimmest of margins.

Grimsby Town vs. Newport (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Promotion hopefuls Grimsby Town will host Newport County on Saturday at Blundell Park in their 38th League Two game of 2024-25.

Grimsby are in ninth place with 56 points despite their 1-0 loss against Salford City on March 15 and are two points and two places from the last of four promotion playoff spots, while Newport County are in 16th place with 46 points.

We say: Grimsby Town 1-0 Newport County

It is difficult to see Grimsby scoring more than once on Saturday, but they are likely to find the back of the net if they create a similar number of chances as they did against Salford.

Though Newport County will take confidence from their hosts' inconsistencies at home in recent weeks, their own record on the road is alarming, and they may succumb to another defeat.

Port Vale vs. Morecambe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two teams at opposite ends of the League Two table will clash on Saturday when promotion-hunting Port Vale host relegation-battling Morecambe.

The hosts are sixth in the league table with 61 points from 36 games, while the visitors are 23rd in the standings with 30 points from 37 league fixtures.

We say: Port Vale 3-1 Morecambe

Port Vale are certainly the favourites given the difference in league position, and with the hosts also winning each of the last three clashes at Vale Park, we expect another victory for the Valiants.

Swindon vs. Accrington (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swindon Town play host to Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon knowing that only a win will do if they wish to remain extreme outsiders for the playoffs.

At a time when the home side sit in 15th position in the League Two table, Accrington are down in 20th place and pushing towards safety.

We say: Swindon Town 3-1 Accrington Stanley

Although Accrington have been in good form of late, Swindon know that they have little option but to push for maximum points from the start. With that in mind, we feel that a fast beginning to the game will benefit Holloway's side on their way to success.
