Mark Webber believes that persistence was the key factor to his winning the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this afternoon.
The Red Bull driver gained the lead from Fernando Alonso with an overtaking manoeuvre on the Wellington Straight with just four laps remaining before going on to take the chequered flag.
Reflecting on his victory, the Australian was full of praise for the plans that his team had put in place for the race.
"It was a very interesting race," he told BBC Sport. "Fernando Alonso had very good pace. We had the better strategy in the end. We never gave up, kept pushing and it did not work out in the end for Fernando."
Today's win is the second time that Webber has been victorious at the Silverstone circuit.
