Sebastian Vettel admits that the Hungarian Grand Prix did not pan out as well as he had expected.

Sebastian Vettel has conceded that he was disappointed with the result of this afternoon's Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver was regarded by many as the favourite ahead of the race, but having damaged his front wing in a collision with Jenson Button, he was forced to settle for third place behind winner Lewis Hamilton and second-placed Kimi Raikkonen.

"It was not the best race. The start was difficult and when Lewis pulled in we thought we could do it on the softs," he told reporters.

"I damaged my front wing which did not help. I tried to hang on in there and tried to fight back with Kimi. I could not get him on the straight. We wanted a little bit more today."

Despite his unhappiness, Vettel has extended his lead at the top of the standings to 38 points.
