Carlos Sainz Jr has been handed a penalty for missing a weighbridge call during qualifying for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.
The Toro Rosso driver, who had qualified ninth, will have to start tomorrow's race from the pitlane after failing to spot the red light calling for his car to be weighed during the first part of this afternoon's qualifying session.
A statement from the stewards said: "The driver failed to stop for weighing during Q1 when signalled to do so by the red traffic light, the car was not returned to the FIA garage and work was undertaken.
"In accordance with Article 26.1 (iv) of the FIA Formula 1 Sporting regulations the driver is required to start from the pitlane."
Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton will start from pole position in Monaco for the first time.
