Europe captain Paul McGinley has revealed that he has yet to decide on his final pairings for this week's Ryder Cup.
The Irishman suggested that he has a strong idea of who will play with each other during Friday and Saturday, but will wait until seeing how his players settle at Gleneagles before making his final call.
"I have a skeleton plan in place but I wouldn't say it is firmed up," he told Sky Sports News. "I want to discuss things with the vice captains but more than I want to see how the players are.
"It is a little bit like horses from Ireland travelling over to Cheltenham – you want to see how they get over the journey.
"You want to see how tired they are and assess them all. The next four or five days will give us an insight into that. We'll assess that in the next few days and then firm up our ideas with regards to pairings."
McGinley and his players came together in Scotland for the first time on Monday as they prepare to defend the trophy that they won courtesy of a memorable final-day comeback against the USA at Medinah in 2012.
