Bethpage Black golf course will host the 2024 Ryder Cup, it has been announced.
It will be the first time that the biennial event between teams from Europe and the USA will take place in New York.
PGA president Ted Bishop announced the choice of course during a press conference at Bethpage, Long Island this afternoon, where it was also revealed that the course will be the venue for the 2019 US PGA Championship.
The par-71, 7,458-yard Black course is the hardest of five courses at the Bethpage State Park. It has hosted the US Open twice in 2002 and 2009 when Americans Tiger Woods and Lucas Glovers were the respective winners.
Europe currently hold the Ryder Cup thanks to their memorable last-day comeback at Medinah a year ago.
