England's Alice Kinsella has won the gold medal in the women's balance beam at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, with teammate Kelly Simm picking up the bronze.
Simm initially led after her routine was awarded a score of 13.033, but she was knocked out of the gold medal position by 17-year-old Kinsella, whose performance earned a mammoth score of 13.700.
A score of 12.533 for Canada's Isabela Onyshko - enough to earn third place at the time - ensured that both Englishwomen would be on the podium, but they then faced a nervous wait to find out the colour of their medals.
Australia's Georgia-Rose Brown produced a near-perfect routine in front of the home crowd to put the pressure on, but while her score of 13.066 was enough to knock Simm down to bronze, it was still some way adrift of Kinsella's mark.
The medal is Kinsella's third of the Commonwealth Games and completes the set, adding to the silver she won as part of the team event and the bronze from the all-around final.
England have now won 14 gymnastics medals on the Gold Coast, including five golds.
