Patrick Kane hoping to find breakthrough goal of Games

Patrick Kane hopes to get his first goal of the Sochi Games against Canada in tomorrow's semi-final clash at the Bolshoy Ice Dome.

United States ice hockey player Patrick Kane is hopeful that he can fire his first goal of the Winter Olympics in tomorrow's semi-final encounter against Canada.

The 25-year-old, who has four assists to his name so far in Sochi, has yet to get off the mark in terms of finding the net himself.

"I thought I had some chances last game [against Czech Republic]," Kane is quoted as saying by Voices. "I thought I had the puck a lot, and I created some, too. You're always looking to do more when it's not going in the net, but I"m just trying to get the shot through, get them on net, and see what happens.

"I'll keep trying to do the right things. If not, then I'll try to do the right things to the point where I'm playing good defense, making plays with the puck, trying to create offense. That's what I'm always trying to look to do. Hopefully it comes tomorrow. That'd be a great time."

Sweden and Finland meet in the other semi-final at the Bolshoy Ice Dome.
