Police in Rio de Janeiro have reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Ipswich Town owner Marcus Evans over allegations of illegal ticket sales at the Olympics.
According to Irish broadcaster RTE, the Civil Police Fraud Unit in Rio have issued four arrest warrants for executives at Evans's sports hospitality company THG Sports.
A national newspaper alleged that THG had been involved in a scam to illegally sell Olympic tickets for up to four times their face value, with some high-end tickets going for as much as £6,000 each on the secondary market.
In a statement, THG insisted that the allegations are "totally without foundation" and accused Rio's Olympic organising committee of having "an agenda" against the company in order to support Brazil-based hospitality providers.
Evans has been in control at Championship side Ipswich since 2007 and has a reported wealth of around £765m.
