Jamie Vardy visits children's hospital

Leicester City frontman Jamie Vardy uses an afternoon off from training to deliver Christmas presents to kids at a local hospital.

Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy used his time off on Thursday to deliver gifts to children at Leicester's Royal Infirmary.

The Leicester City frontman, whose 15 goals have helped to fire the Foxes to the top of the Premier League table, clubbed together with his teammates to buy presents and personally deliver them during an afternoon off from training.

"Some of these kids might not be able to get home for Christmas and their families will have to come and spend it in hospital," the 28-year-old told BBC East Midlands Today.

"We've come in [today] and there are smiles on everyone's faces. Hopefully it gives the kids a lift and hopefully they will be out of here as soon as possible."

Vardy will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as his side travel to the North-West to face Everton at Goodison Park.
