Jamie Carragher has confirmed that Sky Sports will not be replacing Gary Neville on its Monday Night Football show.

The former Manchester United captain relinquished his punditry role after being appointed Valencia's new head coach last week.

Neville has received plenty of plaudits for his insight and analysis since joining the broadcaster in 2011, and also created a decent partnership with his Liverpool rival Carragher when the former defender was hired by Sky in 2013.

Reports emerged over the weekend claiming that ex-Liverpool and Wales forward Craig Bellamy was being lined up to replace Neville, but Carragher has confirmed that guests will change on a weekly basis.

The 37-year-old tweeted: "Just to be clear Gnev2 isn't being replaced. We're going to have a different guest every week. Should be good!"

Carragher described tonight's guest, who will join him and host Ed Chamberlain for the Premier League match between Everton and Crystal Palace, as "lively".
