Greater Manchester Police will reportedly not investigate the unsavoury bust-up between rival players and coaching staff in the aftermath of Manchester City's 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is understood to have instigated the fracas in the tunnel area after objecting to City's exuberant celebrations in the away dressing room.
A number of incidents have been reported in the two days since the heated derby, including City assistant Mikel Arteta suffering a facial wound and Mourinho allegedly being hit by a carton of milk.
Sky Sports News suggests that, while both clubs and the Football Association have launched independent investigations, the matter will stay out of police hands.
Despite police being present in the tunnel area at the time, no action was taken and no formal complaints have been made.
The same report claims that United are unlikely to face any further punishment from the FA for a separate incident, after a flare was thrown towards Bernardo Silva late into City's 14th successive league win.
