Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney attended a ceremony for the switching-on of the Christmas lights at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool yesterday.
The medical facility opened its new £237m building in Springfield Park earlier this year situated just a few miles from Croxteth, where the England international grew up.
The striker posted a picture from his trip, alongside wife Coleen Rooney and some of the hospital's patients, on Instagram:

The Rooneys are both patrons of the hospital.
