Louis van Gaal reportedly gave a trial to an aspiring footballer who waited outside Manchester United's training base for 11 hours a day begging for a chance.
The youngster, who was once signed to Fulham, camped outside Carrington from 7am to 6pm every day holding a sign reading: "Give me just one chance."
The Red Devils manager eventually relented and allowed him in for a training session, but he failed to do enough to impress and earn a call-back, according to the Daily Star.
"The kid was out in all weathers and would be there every day without fail. We thought he was just being a nuisance, to be honest," a source told the newspaper. "He said he had been on Fulham's books at one stage and brought his CV with him. The gaffer was impressed with the lengths he had gone to and personally intervened.
"United wished him well and it showed a side of the manager not many get to see."
Van Gaal is currently finding his own job under increasing pressure as his side sit fifth in the Premier League after a run of no wins in four.
