Joey Barton labels singer Justin Bieber "a smack addiction waiting to happen" on Twitter.

Marseille midfielder Joey Barton has once again caused controversy on social networking site Twitter by blasting pop singer Justin Bieber.

The 19-year-old star is currently one of the biggest names in the music industry and commands a huge following on the site, with his fans being referred to as 'Beliebers'.

However, Barton, who is on loan at the French outfit from Queens Park Rangers, is adamant that he will never become a 'Belieber'.

"I'd rather flush my head down the toilet daily than be a 'Belieber'. He's a smack addiction waiting to happen. #macaulaycaulkinstyle," Barton Tweeted.

"He looks little a shaved little bird with earrings. This is a truly fucked up world, if he's 'cool'".

Barton has described artist Jake Bugg as "kak".
