Papiss Cisse is reportedly photographed gambling in a casino, despite his feud with Newcastle United over sponsors pay-day loan company Wonga.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has reportedly been photographed gambling in a casino, despite his conflict with the Magpies over a pay-day loan company.

There have been suggestions that the 28-year-old could leave the North East club due to his refusal to wear the team shirt emblazoning the logo of loan company Wonga because of his Muslim beliefs.

Despite the striker's stance and the fact that Islam condemns gambling, a photograph has emerged on Twitter claiming to be Cisse at a casino.

Andrew McNally, who has stated that he is the one who took the picture, told The Mirror: "Cisse was just placing small bets, £10 or £20 with £5 chips.

"A number of fans have said that they have seen him in there. You have to say it does undermine his stance on Wonga."

Cisse signed for the Magpies in January last year.
