Donald McRae's book about American former boxer Emile Griffith is reportedly expected to be named the winner of William Hill Sports Book of the Year 2015.
McRae, who won the award in 1996 for Dark Trade and again in 2002 for In Black & White, is on a 14-book shortlist with his piece A Man's World: The Double Life of Emile Griffith.
According to the Daily Mail, McRae is likely to claim the prize for a third time as his latest book delves into the homophobia suffered by Griffith and how he struggled to cope with the passing of Benny Paret, who died from a knockout blow in a fight between the pair.
MMA fighter Ronda Rousey also appears on the shortlist with her autobiography My Fight, Your Fight, which she co-wrote with Maria Burns Ortiz.
