Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher has been mocked by a German satire magazine following the sportsman's skiing accident.
The 45-year-old has been in a Grenoble hospital for five weeks after he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.
German magazine Titanic has sparked fury after posting an image of fellow F1 legend Niki Lauda with the headline: 'Exclusive - First Photo After The Accident - This is how badly it affected Schumi'.
The publication is referring to Lauda's crash in the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, which left the driver with facial scars.
"It is an absolute barefaced cheek and is completely impious," the Daily Mail quotes Lauda as saying. "I ask myself, 'who would print such a load of rubbish?'"
The article is also said to have told parents how they can explain Schumacher's serious accident to their children with 'Fun and Games', which includes a maze showing that taking the wrong route on the slopes could put the reader in hospital.
The former Ferrari driver is gradually being awoken from a medically-induced coma.
