Michael Schumacher 'undergoing muscle training to stop body seizing up'

Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is reportedly undergoing muscle training to prevent his body from seizing up while in a coma.

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher has reportedly been undergoing muscle training in order to prevent his body from seizing up while in an induced coma.

The 45-year-old has entered a fifth week in a Grenoble hospital after he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.

According to The Mirror, emergency medicine expert Professor Heinzpeter Moecke said: "Patients in comas need limbs and joints moved daily to ensure muscles do not atrophy."

Reports have claimed that the former driver is in a stable condition, but doctors have no plan to wake him up from his coma yet.
