Sky Sports to incorporate live player microphone during British Masters

Sky Sports reveals that a live player microphone will be worn by Nick Dougherty during the British Masters this week.

Sky Sports has revealed that a live player microphone will be used during its coverage of this week's British Masters at Woburn.

The broadcaster will attempt to get viewers closer to the action by giving three-time European Tour winner Nick Dougherty a microphone to wear during the tournament.

Throughout Sky's coverage, the commentators will get the thoughts of Dougherty while he is working his way around the course.

Sky Sports head of gold Jason Wessely said: "We are very excited about the British Masters and the prominent role Sky Sports can play in shaping the coverage of the event.

"Our aim is to take the coverage further and engage with viewers in new and exciting ways, to showcase a fantastic event which is back on the calendar."

Sky will also host a live masterclass from Thursday to Saturday with Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Luke Donald at the end of play.
