Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a break from his holidays to lend his support to the mangrove preservation in Bali, Indonesia.

The Portugal captain is an ambassador for the Mangrove Care Forum, which aims to take care of the forests that are dying out and are failing to provide protection for coastal areas.

The former Manchester United star planted a mangrove tree and received a certificate from Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono while on his visit, according to The Guardian.

Ronaldo is reported to have become involved in the preservation after the 2004 tsunami.
