West Ham United's bid to become tenants at the Olympic Stadium will reportedly be held up again this week by a protracted appeals process.
The Hammers are due to have their bid approved by the London Legacy Development Corporation today after upping their annual rent offer to £2.5m in an effort to get the deal secured.
Unfortunately for West Ham, a right for any party to appeal will mean that the agreement will take longer than expected to be completed, according to The Guardian.
Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn has insisted that his club should share the Stratford site and has vowed to appeal if West Ham are awarded the sole tenancy.
Legal proceedings surrounding Newham Coucil's offer of public money to part-fund the cost of converting the stadium for football use is also subject to an appeals process and could keep the Clarets waiting to get the green light for the move late into 2013.
