The 20/1 shot, who was ridden by Davy Russell, has scooped the honour after a photo-finish was needed to decide between the horse and competitor On His Own (16/1).
A stewards' enquiry took place following the race with suggestions that Lord Windermere cut across On His Own to win the race, but the result stood.
Bobs Worth headed into the race favourite to secure a Cheltenham Gold Cup double, while Silviniaco Conti and Last Instalment, who were declared fit to run, were also contenders for the title.
After two false starts, the race eventually got underway, with Knockara Beau and Teaforthree quick out of the blocks, while Bobs Worth cruised along.
Twelve horses remained in contention following the 10th until Last Instalment was pushed out of the running after falling at the fence.
Silviniaco Conti led the way with two to jump, while The Giant Bolster (14/1) entered the fray, with Bobs Worth a length behind, but it was Lord Windermere who stormed down the field to clinch the cup.
On His Own finished second, with The Giant Bolster in third.
