Lee Radford: 'Poor execution cost Hull FC against Wigan Warriors'

Hull FC coach Lee Radford claims that poor execution proved costly for his side during their 48-12 defeat to Wigan Warriors.

Hull FC coach Lee Radford has claimed that poor finishing cost his side during Thursday's 48-12 defeat to Wigan Warriors in Super League.

The Black and Whites failed to build on last weekend's derby victory as they were comfortably beaten on home turf by the Warriors.

While suggesting that his players were tired following their win over Hull Kingston Rovers, Radford concedes that they should have been more clinical in the final third against Wigan.

"I don't want to make excuses, but I've been involved in derbies and it takes a lot out of you," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"I said at half time we had to be prepared to hit a bit harder and 10 minutes into the second half we could have had 12 points but a lack of execution cost us. We looked wounded and they are not a forgiving side."

Last night's defeat saw Hull's three-game winning streak in Super League come to an end.
