Wakefield Trinity Wildcats duo to miss Wigan Warriors clash

Wakefield pair Danny Kirmond and Tim Smith are to miss the team's Super League clash with Wigan Warriors through injury.

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats duo Danny Kirmond and Tim Smith have been ruled out of Friday's Super League clash with Wigan Warriors through injury.

Club captain Kirmond has been sidelined due to multiple knocks, while scrum-half Smith is nursing a knee problem.

Wakefield are currently at the bottom of the table following four defeats from their opening six games of the season.

"It gives us a good opportunity to give a run out to some of the younger players again," coach James Webster is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We go to Wigan with a mindset that we are still looking at getting a result."

The Wildcats head to the DW Stadium on the back of a 14-44 defeat to Huddersfield Giants.
