Wigan Warriors prop Ben Flower banned for six months

Wigan Warriors prop Ben Flower is banned for six months by the RFL.

Wigan Warriors prop Ben Flower has been given a six-month ban by the Rugby Football League for punching St Helens's Lance Hohaia.

The 26-year-old was sent off for striking Hohaia twice during Saturday's Super League Grand Final, which the Warriors lost 14-6.

Flower, who apologised for the incident, was facing a minimum eight-game suspension before the RFL dealt out its punishment on Tuesday night.

Wigan have confirmed that they will not appeal the ruling.

Hohaia was handed a one-game ban on Monday after pleading guilty to striking Flower with his forearm at the start of the altercation.
