Shaun Wane: 'Hard work paid off for Wigan Warriors'

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane claims that "everything paid off" for his side in their impressive 48-12 victory over Hull FC on Thursday night.

Shaun Wane has hailed the 'big hearts' of his Wigan Warriors players after they earned a storming 48-12 win over Hull FC.

The Cherry and Whites crossed over four times in each half at the KC Stadium on Thursday night to move into second place.

Following the impressive victory, which was just Wigan's fourth success on the road this year, Wane was quick to talk up the character shown throughout his side.

"Everything paid off today," he is quoted as saying by Wigan Today. "We've done lots of bits in certain games well and I wanted them to put a few things together and we did that today.

"We're only a small team but their heart is big. They run hard and we trust each other, me and the players. They do what I ask them to do and that is crucial - that's what they did today.

"We very rarely come up against a team smaller than us so the one thing we need to do is sprint, run hard, and they've all got a ticker - that's why we sign them."

Warriors now have a week off before the Super 8s get underway.
