Gloucester Rugby hold on to beat Exeter Chiefs

Gloucester Rugby score three tries to beat Exeter Chiefs in the European Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Gloucester Rugby booked their place in the final of the European Challenge Cup thanks to a 30-19 win over Exeter Chiefs.

Both sides exchanged early penalties before Gloucester scored the game's first try as Billy Meakes latched onto a James Hook grubber kick and touched the ball down.

Exeter kept in touch thanks to the reliable boot of Henry Slade, who kicked three penalties.

However, with just over 10 minutes to go, Gloucester pulled clear as Tom Savage picked the ball up from a collapsed maul and crashed over the line.

Exeter set up a tense finish as Elvis Taione scored a try, but Jonny May dashed their hopes as he dived over just two minutes later.

Gloucester will play Edinburgh in the final.
