Harlequins' coach Conor O'Shea says that he is not interested in taking charge of the Ireland national side.

Conor O'Shea has said that he is "absolutely not" interested in leaving Harlequins to take over as coach with the Ireland national side.

The former Ireland international had been linked to the vacancy following Declan Kidney's departure earlier this week.

O'Shea told the London Evening Standard: "Absolutely not. I am contracted to Harlequins until the end of the 2013-14 season. I will be honouring that commitment and, hopefully, continuing beyond it.

"Of course with the fixtures this weekend there are lots of questions but I've made my position very clear."

O'Shea has coached Harlequins since 2010.
