Sale Sharks see off Wasps

Sale Sharks ultimately make light work of Wasps with a 25-14 win in this afternoon's Aviva Premiership clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Sale Sharks have beaten Wasps 25-14 in this afternoon's Aviva Premiership clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Tom Arscott opened the scoring with a try from the left wing in the fifth minute, though the home side couldn't capitalise further due to Danny Cipriani's missed conversion.

Just before the half-hour mark, Wasps edged themselves in front when Nathan Hughes went over the line from a maul, before Andy Goode converted successfully.

Chris Cusiter's try in the 36th minute, combined with Cipriani's conversion, ensured that the Sharks would go in at the break five points ahead of the opposition.

Cipriani then struck a penalty and a drop goal shortly after the restart to improve his side's lead, but the visitors threatened a nervy finale when Rob Miller went over the line in the 69th minute.

The Sharks, however, made sure of the win when Tom Brady scored with just four minutes left.
