Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards has admitted that indiscipline cost his side during their defeat to Bath in the Aviva Premiership.
The Falcons suffered a fifth loss of the season on Saturday as they went down 23-14 at the Recreation Ground.
When asked if his team deserved anything out of the game, Richards told Sky Sports News: "I think we did in some ways but the scrum didn't function, which was disappointing.
"Then we gave four or five needless penalties away which again cost us. If you do that then you probably don't deserve anything out of the game. We wanted something out of the game. We didn't get it - that's the disappointing thing."
Newcastle have the chance to get back to winning ways on Friday when they host Gloucester Rugby in the league.
