Newcastle Falcons cruise to London Welsh victory

Newcastle Falcons add to bottom-placed London Welsh's woes by inflicting a 38-7 Aviva Premiership defeat on their opponents at Kingston Park.

Newcastle Falcons have returned to winning ways having cruised to a 38-7 victory over bottom-placed London Welsh at Kingston Park this afternoon.

There was less than 15 minutes on the clock when Sinoti Sinoti crossed over for his sixth try of the season, although Tom Catterick failed to add the extras thanks in no small part to the strong winds circulating around the ground.

Two tries in as many minutes shortly after saw the Falcons open up a hefty lead, with Rob Vickers the man to initially get the ball over the chalk, before Mike Blair capitalised on some space created by a slip in the Welsh backline to further strengthen his side's advantage.

The visitors were able to open their account on the 24-minute mark, as Nick Scott latched onto William Robinson's fine kick through the middle to reduce the arrears.

Newcastle, winless in four prior to this one, added another try before the break, though. This time Will Welch was the man to power over following a spell of positive play from the Exiles.

The bottom-placed visitors, who have now lost all 19 Aviva Premiership games this season, conceded a further two tries in the second period as they struggled to withhold the Falcons' pressure.

Mark Wilson was the first to add his name to the scoresheet shortly before the hour when he went over in the corner, and Catterick rounded off the try scoring after seizing on a knock on in midfield.

Welsh remain well adrift at the bottom of the Aviva Premiership table following this defeat, while Falcons stay in 10th place.
