Sam Warburton: 'Wales will not ease up against Uruguay'

Sam Warburton warns Uruguay that Wales will play "foot down for 80 minutes" in their Rugby World Cup opener on Sunday.

Wales captain Sam Warburton has warned Uruguay that his team will not be easing up at any stage of their Rugby World Cup opening game in Cardiff.

The 2011 semi-finalists begin their 2015 campaign at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday and, while the South Americans have been billed as the whipping boys of Pool A, Warburton insists that Wales will be playing "foot down for 80 minutes".

He told the Daily Post: "We have to be respectful to them. They will be more organised than in the past. They've had a month together so will be more organised.

"No-one knows what a good score is until a couple of teams play. It's quite a tricky situation. The main thing is you want to get a win and after that we'll be foot down for 80 minutes.

"In no game will we ease up as you don't want to look back in four weeks and wish you'd pushed a bit harder. It's similar to the Six Nations."

After facing Uruguay, Wales will travel to Twickenham next weekend to take on England.
