Dean Ryan calls for positive Worcester Warriors response

Worcester Warriors coach Dean Ryan calls on his players to take inspiration from the club's relegation.

Worcester Warriors coach Dean Ryan has called on his players to take inspiration from the club's relegation from the Aviva Premiership.

The Warriors dropped down to the second tier of English rugby on Saturday as they were hammered 44-20 at Saracens.

However, Ryan wants the squad to use the experience of this season as a motivating factor for their return to the top flight.

"We're in the Championship now, so we can stop talking about ifs. That's going to drive us on, because it's going to hurt," he told BBC Sport.

"There's some big players in that changing room. It will hurt egos, it will test humility and everything else, but it's got to be a driver to ensure we come back to this level."

Worcester conclude their Aviva Premiership campaign next Saturday at home to Gloucester Rugby.
