Ding Junhui has equalled Stephen Hendry's record of five ranking title victories in a season by beating Neil Robertson 10-5 to win the China Open.
Ding lifted the trophy for a second time, adding to his triumphs in the Shanghai Masters, Indian Open, International Championship and German Masters.
The 27-year-old built up a 7-2 lead over Robertson, before securing a best-of-19 victory by taking three of the next six frames.
Speaking after the match, the Chinese player is quoted by China Daily as saying: "Robertson showed toughness, especially during the second half. I felt energetic from the start, concentrated on restraining his performance and tried to score as many as I could, which paid off during the second.
"I suffered few turnovers in the first. I didn't play at the same level as that in the second, while trying to reduce his chances."
Ding can surpass Hendry's achievement - which stretches back to the 1991-92 campaign - when he competes in the showcase Snooker World Championship event later this month in Sheffield.
