Manchester City have reportedly rebuffed an approach from Chelsea for midfielder Nico O'Reilly.
The promising 19-year-old has broken into Pep Guardiola's first team this season and has featured six times in all competitions, scoring his first senior goal in an 8-0 FA Cup win over Salford City earlier this month.
Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea have expressed their interest in signing O'Reilly before the winter transfer window closes at 11pm today (February 4).
According to TheSecretScout, the West Londoners have in fact lodged an enquiry for the midfielder, but that has been 'knocked back' by Man City.
It is understood that it would take a huge offer for the Citizens to even entertain the youngster leaving the Etihad Stadium at this stage in the transfer window.
The report adds that Chelsea have now turned their attention elsewhere to bring in a midfielder before the deadline, with Enzo Maresca keen to strengthen his options in the middle of the pitch.
Chelsea are set to lose Carney Chukwuemeka, who has travelled to Germany to undergo a medical ahead of joining Borussia Dortmund on loan with an option to buy.
The West Londoners are also believed to be exploring the possibility of signing a new left-winger and could reignite their interest in Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho.
