England's Sophie Taylor has recorded a new British record of 1:06:35 as she swam to gold in the women's 100m breaststroke final at the Commonwealth Games.
Taylor finished ahead of Australia's Lorna Tonks and Jamaica's Alia Atkinson, who led for much of the race but had to settle for bronze after fading badly in the final stages of the race.
"I wasn't where I wanted to be in the first 50 and then I just turned and I knew I had to give it my all," Taylor told BBC Sport.
"I just kept going and going and came out with the best time and a gold medal."
Taylor's victory comes after she narrowly missed out on bronze in the women's 50m breaststroke on Friday.
