Adam Peaty blew the competition out of the water to claim his sixth consecutive British 100m breaststroke title at Ponds Forge on Tuesday.
The three-time Olympic gold medallist posted a time of 58.58 - the second fastest in the world this year - to add to his ever-growing medal haul ahead of a packed 2022 schedule.
Peaty's fellow Loughborough swimmers James Wilby (59.17) and Gregory Butler (1:00.04) placed second and third respectively, but Peaty insisted that the time was not his main goal in Sheffield.
"It gets more difficult as you get older. Obviously the crowd are fantastic but it does get harder to race and we've overcome some obstacles," Peaty told reporters after the race, as quoted by olympics.com.
"I took a long time off after the Olympics, but we're in a good place. I'm not really into times... Tonight was about a race, we have such a depth in breaststroke. My real mission now is to inspire as many people as I can through sport."
Peaty will also be vying for success in Wednesday's 50m and Friday's 200m event at the first British Championships since 2019.
