Great Britain's Jazz Carlin insists that she will "go for it" in the women's 800m freestyle final at the World Swimming Championships in Russia.

Great Britain's Jazz Carlin has said that she is "just going to go for it" in the final of the women's 800m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Russia.

The Welsh swimmer was fifth fastest in qualifying, while America's Katie Ledecky, who already has four golds at this meeting, posted the quickest time.

The 24-year-old told reporters: "That was a strong heat swim this morning and I'm happy with it. Obviously in the final I'm just going to go for it. It will be the last event of my season and I'm really looking forward to it."

The medals will be decided in the final later today.
