GB swimmer Michael Jamieson: 'I'm getting my spark back'

Michael Jamieson says that he is getting his "spark" back after taking a two-month break following his disappointment at the Commonwealth Games.

British swimmer Michael Jamieson has expressed his belief that he is getting back on track after failing to win the 200m breaststroke final for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.

The 26-year-old, who came second to teammate Ross Murdoch in the final at Tollcross, took a two-month break in the USA and has switched his coaching regime.

"In any job it's tough to get back into things after you've been away for a while but having a new coach with a new programme and new ideas was the thing I needed to get that spark back," The Herald quotes Jamieson as saying. "It was important to get back to enjoying it again and enjoying learning."

At the weekend, Jamieson finished third in the 100m breaststroke at the Scottish Gas National Short Course Championships at the Royal Commonwealth Pool.
