Team Wales swimmer Calum Jarvis has insisted that he felt support from all over the crowd at Tollcross this evening after securing a bronze medal in the 200m freestyle.
The Bath-based Welshman, who missed out on a spot in Team GB at London 2012, finished the final behind Australian duo Thomas Fraser-Holmes and Cameron McEvoy.
Despite the rivalry between the home nations, Jarvis, who is the first to win Wales a swimming medal in the Games, was cheered on by the predominantly Scottish crowd during the showdown this evening.
"The atmosphere is really, really good," Jarvis told Sports Mole. "There is a lot of Welsh supporters out there, so I'm really happy and even some of the Scots were behind me as well, so it's really good."
Jarvis clocked a time of 1:46.53 in the final.
