Rafael Nadal hopes Bernard Tomic bounces back from injury

Rafael Nadal is hopeful that Bernard Tomic can bounce back from the groin injury that forced him to retire from his Australian Open first-round match against the Spaniard.

World number one Rafael Nadal has expressed his sympathy towards Bernard Tomic, who suffered a groin problem during his first-round clash against the Spaniard at the Australian Open.

The 21-year-old was forced to retire after the first set, which stood at 6-4 in Nadal's favour.

"I want to say I am very sorry for Bernard I hope he gets better," the Australian Open official Twitter account quotes Nadal as saying. "I know how tough this situation is. I had it few years ago."

Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have all progressed into the second round.
