Fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska insists that she is not at the Australian Open to make up the numbers after her straight-sets win earlier today.

Agnieszka Radwanska has insisted that she feels quietly confident about her Australian Open chances after progressing in straight sets earlier today.

The fourth seed qualified for the third round in Melbourne with a dominant win over Irina Camelia Begu this morning.

Radwanska feels that she is primed to make her Grand Slam breakthrough this season after coming desperately close at Wimbledon last year.

She told reporters: "Yes I'm very happy, it's always great to wrap up a match in two sets.

"I managed the heat well today and that was tough, I've been pushing hard in the off season and I think that showed today.

"I'm going to give everything I've got here to win the tournament and we will see what happens."

British number one Heather Watson is in Radwanska's section of the draw and will meet the Pole if she wins her second-round match against Ksenia Pervak later today.
