Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has progressed to the fourth round at the French Open with a straight-sets win over Pablo Andujar at Roland Garros this evening.
There was little to separate the players in the first set, with the Spaniard coming from a break down to force a tie-break, but the 14th seed was too strong, comfortably clinching the breaker to take the set.
Tsonga's serve was stronger at the start of the second set, allowing the Frenchman to open up a double break on his way to a two-set lead, although Andujar got a game back before his opponent wrapped it up.
The 14th seed was on the attack again early in the third as he pushed to wrap the match up, and once again he managed to get a break on the board.
Tsonga tried to finish the match on the Spaniard's serve, with Andujar saving a match point while serving to stay in the match, but an error handed Tsonga another chance, and the French player pounced at the net to secure the 7-6 6-4 6-3 win.
Tsonga will face fourth seed Tomas Berdych for a place in the quarter-finals.
