Stanislas Wawrinka grabs fourth-round spot at French Open

Stanislas Wawrinka books a place in the fourth round of the French Open with a comfortable 6-4 6-3 6-1 victory over Steve Johnson in Paris.

Former Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has kept his French Open campaign alive by reaching the fourth round in a 6-4 6-3 6-2 victory over Steve Johnson.

The Swiss pro came close to an early break in the first set, but Johnson was able to save three break points in his opening game.

Eight games later, Wawrinka managed to strike and take a single break for the set, and he continued his dominance in the second as just one break was all that he needed to double his lead.

Johnson had a mountain to climb after losing his opening service game and Wawrinka looked to wrap proceedings up swiftly as he snatched his opponent's serve again before grabbing the winning point.
