Roger Federer "extremely proud" of Indian Wells performance

Roger Federer says that he is "extremely proud" of his triumphant performance in the BNP Paribas Open.

Roger Federer has said that he is "extremely proud" of his triumphant performance in the BNP Paribas Open.

The Swiss captured his third title of the year at Indian Wells and believes that all his hard work and sacrifice is finally starting to pay dividends.

"Well, naturally I love winning tennis tournaments," said Federer. "Especially when you put in all the hard work and the sacrifice. When it all pays off and you get the title and the emotions are going, it's a wonderful feeling.

"It's nice taking it all the way and getting the victories. I was just extremely proud of my performance."

The 30-year-old also dismissed claims that he is past his peak and believes that there is still much more that he can accomplish in the sport.

"Some people don't understand how you can play tennis at 30 years old which is shocking to me because normally that's still when you're young enough to play some of your best tennis," he added.

Federer, who is now 15 matches unbeaten, added the Indian Wells title to his 2012 Doha and Rotterdam trophies.
